A keel scar on lock concrete is ugly and accurate. A high toe stain is the same class of evidence: it tells you where the sole actually sat when the ball left.
Walking the toe
Stain kisses the last score. Flatten one degree if the player already stands close. If they crowd the ball, we do not flatten; we say so once.
Off the steel
Carbon hangs on the toe radius. That iron is already a different club. We will not grind a radius to soothe a photograph.
